Kerry King – “From Hell I Rise”

Late last night I received an email containing the link to download Kerry King’s debut solo record “From Hell I rise”.

Just earlier today, Amazon delivered its exclusive Silver/Red Marbled Vinyl of the record.

Kerry King – “From Hell I Rise” record, Amazon Exclusive Vinyl.

I’ve listened to most of the songs prior to last night and the whole record obviously sounds familiar. I like SLAYER and I like this record too.

I also ordered a copy of the record direct from Kerry King’s official website. According to USPS, it is still en route.

…paragraph deleted because it sounds pretentious and pedantic. 😬

Anyway, I am looking forward to the next record from this lineup.

Los Angeles Times don’t know who Slayer vocalist is.

UPDATE 2013-02-23:
Los Angeles Times finally noticed the error and changed the caption to:

Los Angeles Times apparently don’t know who Slayer vocalist is (screen capture below). According to L.A. Times Randy Blythe is the vocalist of Slayer instead of Tom Araya. Well, unless L.A. Times knew that Araya had been replaced by Blythe in Kerry King Project.

Randy Blythe is the vocalist of Lamb of God.

Kerry King Project

Early in February 2013, Kerry King was talking about the next Slayer album:

“I’m very comfortable saying that it will be out this year.”

Slayer fans, don’t get your hopes up just yet. The status quo have changed since the news of Dave Lombardo being benched from Slayer Australian 2013 Tour broke on Thursday February 21, 2013.

Jeff Hanneman is still recovering from necrotizing fasciitis and most likely won’t be contributing to the next Slayer record as of yet.

“I have enough material on my own if need be, but I’m open,” King says. “If Jeff comes to the party with some new material, hell ya! I will play all the guitars. I’ve been playing all the guitars for years anyway, except for Jeff’s leads.”

Perfect for Kerry King Project, with Tom Araya on vocals and bass.

Slayer responds to Dave Lombardo

Slayer has responded to Dave Lombardo’s post regarding his outage from Australian Tour 2013.

Slayer confirms that Jon Dette (Testament) will drum for the band on its Australian tour that starts this Saturday, February 23 in Brisbane.

As regards Dave Lombardo’s Facebook post, Slayer does not agree with Mr. Lombardo’s substance or the timeline of the events, except to acknowledge that Mr. Lombardo came to the band less than a week before their scheduled departure for Australia to present an entirely new set of terms for his engagement that were contrary to those that had been previously agreed upon.

Umm, by saying Slayer, it is Kerry King.

Slayer is grateful to its Australian fans for their understanding of this unfortunate last-minute change, and very much looks forward to seeing them at these shows.

Translation: “Come see two original members of Slayer plus Gary holt of Exodus and former drummer of Slayer playing Slayer songs.

Kerry King can’t afford to lose Tom Araya. Should Araya leave Slayer, then it would be KKP; Kerry King Project.

SLAYER?!

Slayer, sans Dave Lombardo again.

UPDATE:
From Dave Lombardo’s Facebook Page

I tried rectifying it by letting my band mates know, and Tom and I hired auditors to figure out what happened, but I was denied access to detailed information and the necessary back up documents.

So Tom Araya and Dave Lombardo seemed to agree. Since Jeff Hanneman is still benched, I guess it’s up to Kerry King.

Metal Hammer reports that Slayer will be performing without Dave Lombardo in Australia. Incendiary headline says:

Dave Lombardo Fired From Slayer?!

Metal Hammer also includes statement from Dave Lombardo on the breaking news. No official words yet from Slayer camp.

Slayer has been touring without Jeff Hanneman due to medical reason. Without Lombardo, only two original Slayer member on the stage. This might be an end to Slayer.
