Apple Announces September 1, 2010 Music Event.

Just in case you’ve been waiting to get a new iPod, waiting for another week would be a good idea. Apple has sent out invitations to select few that don’t rhyme with bizmodo to a September 1, 2010 Music Event. The event will be held at Yerba Buena Center for The Arts Theater in San Francisco. The event starts at 10:00 AM Cupertino Time.

As usual some sites will be bringing live coverage from the event.

What do we know so far?

  • iOS 4.1 availability will be announced for iPhone and iPod touch; not the iPad.
  • New iPod line-up.
  • More FaceTime devices.

Other speculations:

  • The next TV (that’s Apple TV if you can’t see the Apple Logo).
  • The next iLife suite.
  • New iTunes software and services.

Crazy Speculations:

  • Rounded corner of something.
  • White iPhone 4.

Apple seeds iOS 4.1 beta 3 to Developers.

Just a week after the seeding of iOS 4.1 beta 2, Apple release the third beta of the upcoming iOS 4.1. Details are still scarce due to something called NDA; not to be confused with National Dart Association.

Apple has decided to pull Game Center off iOS 4.1 for iPhone 3G.

iOS 4.1 beta 3 is available for:

  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPod touch 3rd generation
  • iPod touch 2nd generation

What is iOS 4.1 beta 3 performance like on iPhone 3G? We will find out soon.

Here’s how you can get your free iPhone 4 case, Jerk:

  1. Download the iPhone 4 Case Program app from the App Store.
  2. Launch the app on your iPhone 4 and sign in using your iTunes Store account or Apple ID.
  3. Select your Bumper or case.

For iPhone 4 purchases made before July 23, 2010, you must apply no later than August 22, 2010; otherwise, you must apply within 30 days of your iPhone 4 purchase. To qualify for this program, you must purchase your iPhone 4 by September 30, 2010.

Refund program for iPhone 4 Bumper case

If you bought iPhone 4 Bumper case from Apple, you will get the refund including any taxes and shipping fees:

  • If you’re paying by credit card, Apple will automatically refund your purchase. Check your refund status here. Read terms and conditions
  • If you’re paying by cash, check, or gift card at an Apple Retail Store, return to the store with your receipt by September 30, 2010, to get your refund.
  • If you’re paying by Gift card on the Apple Online Store, Apple will automatically mail you a new gift card for the refund amount.

If you bought iPhone 4 Bumper case from an AT&T Store:
Apple will reimburse you for the purchase price of your iPhone 4 Bumper. Just fill out this rebate coupon and mail it to us by September 30, 2010. We’ll send your rebate as soon as we process your claim.

If you are not completely satisfied with your iPhone 4, you can return your undamaged iPhone 4 to any Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. If you purchased your iPhone 4 from AT&T, you can also return it to an AT&T store.

Apple Seeds iOS 4.1 beta, no updates for iPad yet.

UPDATE 2:
2:50 PM Cupertino Time, iOS Developer site seems to have problem. It might be hammered by developers trying to download the SDK and it iOS 4.1.

UPDATE 1:
Game Center now requires iOS 4.1, it was previously included in iOS 4 beta.

Apple has just seeded iOS 4.1 beta to Developers for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 2nd and 3rd generation. No update for the iPad yet.

Due to this little thing called NDA, information is still scarce. Not sure what changes are added into iOS 4.1 yet.

Developers can grab te iOS SDK 4.1 and iOS 4.1 for their iPhone and iPod touch at Apple Developer Center. As usual, each device running iOS 4.1 beta must be provisioned.

Apple releases iOS 4 for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch.

Apple release iOS 4 for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPod touch (2nd & 3rd generation) today. iOS 4 is available for download through iTunes.

Please download iTunes 9.2 before you try upgrading to iOS 4. Download iTunes 9.2 from Apple.
