I’ve been slacking a bit for the month of July. Blame it on the Summer weather and anything that can be associated with it.
Anyway, I’m just compiling stuff in July that I didn’t blog on time, I’ll update this as I look at my own notes.

Apple: 100 Million iPods Sold

Apple announces today that the 100 millionth iPod® has been sold.

The first iPod was introduced back in November 2001 with a $399 retail price. As a matter of fact I still have a working first generation iPod that I pre-ordered the day it was announced (what was I thinking?).

CUPERTINO, California—April 9, 2007—Apple® today announced that the 100 millionth iPod® has been sold, making the iPod the fastest selling music player in history. The first iPod was sold five and a half years ago, in November 2001, and since then Apple has introduced more than 10 new iPod models, including five generations of iPod, two generations of iPod mini, two generations of iPod nano and two generations of iPod shuffle. Apple Releases iTunes 7.1.1

Apple updates iTunes again, 11 days after version 7.1 was released.

iTunes 7.1.1 addresses a stability issue and minor compatibility problems in iTunes 7.1.

In somewhat related news, Apple has also re-released iPod shuffle Reset Utility and renamed it to simply iPod Reset Utility. The utility supports 1st and 2nd generation iPod shuffle. (03.15.2007)

About iPod Reset Utility 1.0 for Windows

Use iPod Reset Utility to restore the following iPod models back to their factory settings, when iTunes is unable to do so:
– iPod shuffle (1st Generation)
– iPod shuffle (2nd Generation)

Apple Updates iTunes and QuickTime

Apple releases updates to iTunes and QuickTime.

iTunes 7.1 adds support for the Apple TV and also supports a new full screen Cover Flow and improved sorting options.
QuickTime 7.1.5 delivers numerous bug fixes and addresses critical security issues.
