WordPress 3.9 for iOS

WordPress 3.9 for iOS is now available. Thanks to the auto-App-update feature in iOS 7, users might not know that the WordPress App had been updated.

What’s New in Version 3.9

  • Exclusive iOS 7 support
  • Improved login screen and error message notification
  • Simplified tab-based user interface
  • Enhanced Reader, Comments, and Notifications
  • More seamless inline commenting experience
  • Redesigned posts/pages editing and viewing experience
  • Support added for deep linking from Twitter
  • Various bug fixes

When I opened the WordPress App on Thursday, January 30, 2014, I was somewhat surprised. It did not look like the WordPress App I had been used to using. It took me a few minutes to get used to it.

Apple seeds iOS 7.1 beta 4

Should you be following the two-week release schedule between iOS beta builds, you could be telling people that iOS 7.1 beta 4 would be released on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. You could easily made up a “trusted source within Apple” who told you such news. Then again, Apple could easily release iOS 7.1 beta 4 one day earlier than the expected date.

Anyway, Apple indeed seeded iOS 7 beta 4 build 11D5134c on Monday, January 20, 2014; one day earlier than what some people expected and reported as news.

It seems the awesomeness of “Disable Background App Refresh” visual design is not a priority to change.

iOS 7.1 beta 4

Should Apple follow the two-week release schedule between iOS beta builds, expect iOS 7.1 beta 5 sometimes around February 3 or 4, 2014.

Fun with Products: What is this green frame?

Let’s have a little fun with products.

What could this green frame be?
(No need to answer this seemingly non-obvious rhetorical question.)

This is a lazy way to stretch one post into two. Well, at least the photo is good enough for a post.

Apple seeds iOS 7.1 beta 3 to Developers

As many sites have reported, Apple seeds iOS 7.1 beta 3 build 11D5127c to Developers. Based on the information from a certain registered Apple Developer, the “beautiful” typography of iOS 7 is still there. Apparently the are not in any hurry to make changes on this one. See photo below.

It is not recommended to install any beta versions of iOS unless you are ready to face the awesomeness that is known as software bugs.

iOS 7: “Unread” Mailbox

One feature that I should have used before is the “Unread” Mailbox in iOS. I did not even think about it until iOS 7 is released.

To enable the “Unread” Mailbox in iOS Mail App, go to Mailboxes and tap on “Edit”.
