Mac App Store: iWork ’09 is still here.

At the launch of Mac App Store, the rumored iWork ’11 is nowhere to be found. Apple is still featuring iWork ’09 on Mac App Store.

It is interesting how Mac App Store automatically detects iWork ’09 installations on my MacBook Pro. Mac App Store also detects that iLife ’11 is installed. It is obvious that the application itself must be Mac App Store compatible so it would be detected when installed.

iLife ’11 is now available at Apple Retail Stores.

iLife ’11 features new versions of GarageBand, iMovie and iPhoto while both iWeb and iDVD seems to remain the same. iLife ’11 retails for $49 for single user and $79 for family pack (5 users).

Apple introduces iLife ’11 at Back to the Mac event. The suite includes new versions of iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand along with iWeb and iDVD.

System Requirements:

  • Mac computer with an Intel processor.
  • GarageBand Learn to Play requires a Mac with an Intel Core Duo processor or better.
  • AVCHD video from supported video cameras requires a Mac with an Intel Core Duo processor or better. Visit the iMovie ’11 Supported Cameras page for additional details.
  • 1GB of RAM.
  • Approximately 5GB of available disk space.
  • DVD drive required for installation.
  • Display with at least 1280 x 768 pixel resolution.
  • Mac OS X v10.6.3 or later.
  • 24-bit recording in GarageBand requires a Mac OS X-compatible audio interface with support for 24-bit audio. Please consult the owner’s manual or manufacturer directly for audio device specifications and compatibility.

iLife ’11 comes free with new Mac purchases or available at Apple Store for $49 (U.S.A. price).
