iCloud is open for business.
iCloud is now available to the public at iCloud.com.
MobileMe users are required to move their accounts before they can use iCloud. Move your MobileMe account to iCloud.

I currently have a MobileMe account and an iCloud account, so I’m not in any hurry to move it. I will document the move using a different MobileMe account which belongs to a colleague.
Let’s talk iPhone.: iCloud to launch on October 12th, 2011.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services reveals that iCloud is scheduled to launch on October 12th, 2011. iTunes Match service to follow in the November 2011.
Amazon Cloud Drive, Google Music Beta and iTunes in the Cloud.
Amazon Cloud Drive
- New MP3 purchases are automatically saved in the Cloud Drive.
Google Music Beta
- Limit of 20,000 of songs upload regardless of the size.
iTunes in the Cloud
- All purchased music and music videos are available for download, including the ones from the past.
These are the currently available services from Amazon, Google and Apple respectively. The more the merrier as long as they do not make me spend more money.
iTunes in the Cloud: You get exactly what you paid for.
Following after the Apple WWDC 2011 Keynote, I obsessively refreshed iTunes 10.3 download page. Not until later in the evening the download actually happened. Immediately I checked all of the purchased songs and music videos from iTunes Store. As expected all past purchases of iTunes plus songs are DRM-free, while the ones I never upgraded still has the DRM.
Apple is doing something right for the consumer, especially for those who had catastrophic hard-drive failure and without any backups.
Let’s see how far iCloud will go.
