Surprise, surprise.
I’ve received an invite from Google for their Google Voice service today.
Google Voice is available in The United States only.
PC World said that Google is reported to have reserved 1 Million Phone Number for its Google Voice service. This is good news if it’s true, because the service has not been made available to new users even after Google rebranded GrandCentral into Google Voice back on March 11th, 2009.
Google Voice is currently available for existing GrandCentral users. It is unclear if Google Voice will be made available for users outside The United States.
If you are interested in getting a Google Voice account, you can sign-up for notification at:

May 2009 has been a busy month and I’ve been posting less on this blog. I figured that I should post the stuff I’ve been meaning to post here.
……. to be continued.
It’s about time my GrandCentral account to be upgraded to Google Voice. I’ve finally got the upgrade notice today.
Google Voice is now available for GrandCentral users and only for the US. Get an invite.

I was listening to Leo Laporte’s The Tech Guy Show and looking at the show notes.
It says:
“Google looses search ground in June.
Google’s share of the web search market is down to 61%. What is that other 49% using?”
Let’s see. 61% + 49% = 110%
I get it, it’s just like Bender who is made of 30% iron, 40% dolomite, 40% titanium and 40% zinc, with a 0.04% nickel impurity.
OK, it’s a typo on Leo’s Show Notes. It might get fixed by now.
