Nexus 7, The Wait.

A lot of people have received their Nexus 7 on Monday July 16th, 2012. I on the other hand would be receiving one sometimes later today.

My colleague suggested we all should go to Pick Up Stix for lunch today and we did. Then I get this fortune:

A small lucky package is on its way to you soon.

Well played, as long as this Nexus 7 is in a relatively small package.

Galaxy Nexus is taken off Google Play US Store.

Galaxy Nexus is no longer available for sale at Google Play US Store. Samsung’s request for a stay of injunction against the sale of Galaxy Nexus was denied by the Honorable Judge Lucy Koh.

I wonder what would happen to the Nexus-7 tablet. What if it were banned for sale in the US too? I have already preordered one and there might be a chance I wouldn’t be getting it. To be honest, I am expecting Nexus-7 to ship before Apple can do anything about it. Then again, Apple has yet to sue ASUS for any slavish copying.

Note from Vondiggity:

“Who’s laughing now? I already bought one.”

Replies from me:

“You paid $399 plus sales tax and shipping. The price is $349 plus sales tax and shipping. That $50 can get you a lot of taco on Taco Tuesday.”

Hello July, 2012!

We all just hit a milestone and enter the second half of 2012. There are still a lot to look forward to this year.

  • Nexus-7 to hit the street sometimes in July.
  • OS X Lion is coming sometimes in July.
  • Windows 8 is coming sometimes this Fall.
  • Microsoft Surface is coming too.
  • The new iPhone is coming this Fall.

In addition to the above, there are still a few mystery products from Apple, Google and even Facebook.

I for one welcome July and the second half of 2012.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is preliminary banned in the USA.

I am pretty sure the it was an album title. Yep there’s an album titled “Banned in the USA” for sure.

From FOSS Patents Blog:

Apple wins U.S. preliminary injunction against the Samsung/Google Galaxy Nexus over Siri patent

Judge Lucy Koh of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California has just granted Apple a preliminary injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, an Android-based smartphone co-developed by Samsung and Google.

In the meantime, Google dropped the unlocked Galaxy Nexus price by $50 at Google Play Store; from $399 to $349. Better get it before the ban took effect.
