Catching Up: Firefox, iOS, Flash, Bad Religion and Slayer.

When was the last time I posted anything here? It’s been quite a while. I want to post them now but I don’t remember most of it. Anyway here I go again.

Firefox 4 Beta 3 is out. It adds multi-touch supports for Windows 7. Download it here.

iOS 4.0.3 is available for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod touch; some exceptions apply. iOS 3.2.2 is also available for iPad. It includes the fix for PDF security flaw that is currently being exploited to jailbreak iOS 4.

Flash 10.1 Gala for Mac OS X is officially released. It adds support for hardware accelerated decoding for certain GPU’s.

Bad Religion new album “The Dissent of Man” is due out on September 28, 2010. The single “The Devil in Stitches” is now available for purchase and streaming. Get it at iTunes Store or Amazon MP3.

Slayer kicked off American Carnage Tour on Wednesday August 11th, 2010 in Glens Falls, New York. The American Carnage Tour First Leg features Megadeth and Testament.

Firefox 3.6.4 is somewhat available.

I saw an update notice for Firefox 3.6.4 on one of the computers today. As always, I let it update. Wen I tried updating Firefox on other computers for some reasons no updates found.

Was Firefox 3.6.4 released and immediately pulled?

Mystery solved! Apparently someone installed Firefox 3.6.4 beta on that particular computer.

Adobe Responds to Flash Crash Bug.

As we have previously discovered, Flash 10.1 beta is not affected by the crash-inducing bug. Matthew Dempsky has been pressing this issue for quite a while. The news hits front page of Hacker News earlier this week and garnered more attentions.

Adobe has now officially responded to this bug. The fix will beincluded in Flash 10.1 that will be released sometimes in 2010. Considering the nature of this bug, Adobe should have included the fix sooner in the 10.0.x release.

I have been using ClickToFlash for a while to weed out those pesky Flash-based ads. In addition to that I have not been missing Flash on the iPhone and iPod touch at all. In a way I’m glad that the iPad won’t be supporting Flash plugin.

Seriously, I don’t really depend on Flash when surfing the web.

Note to Darren Carter, you need to dump the stupid Flash-based site of yours. Get a real webmaster!

Microsoft Security Essentials Fails! Marks Firefox Uninstaller as Trojan.
