Futurama “The Prisoner of Benda” and Stargate SG-1 “Holiday”

Gotta love the Futurama episode titled “The Prisoner of Benda” that aired on August 19th, 2010.

Don’t worry if you haven’t watched it, there will be no spoilers here. Well, with the exception of the screenshot above.

The Futurama gang tried to solve a group theory and it does remind me an episode of Stargate SG-1 titled “Holiday” (Season 2 episode 17). The SG-1 team also tried to solve a group theory but with a smaller set of variables.

In the spirit of South Park episode titled “Simpsons Already Did It” (Season 6 Episode 7):

RENO 911! cast sans Wendi and Mary are here. Wendi McClendon-Covey is working on a movie and Mary Birdsong is working on a Broadway Show.

Long “Jurassic Park” intro with the cast. From stage left to stage right:

  • Robert Ben Garant
  • Jo LoTruglio
  • Niecy Nash
  • Ian Roberts
  • Thomas Lennon (he’s moving around quite a bit while introducing the cast)
  • Kerri Kenney-Silver
  • Nick Swardson
  • Cedric Yarbrough
  • Carlos Alazraqui

Some cast and crew of RENO 911: A XXX Parody are also in the audience.

The RENO 911! cast making colorful commentaries to the parody of their show during the showing of the XXX Parody sans the nudity and sex. Well, they are “dissecting” the acting and the set.

There were some Q&A sessions and RENO 911! props giveaway. Niecy had to leave early because she had a shooting schedule in early morning. Audience members walked home with free copies of the parody DVD.

After the show I talked to Cedric and Carlos while the rest of the cast either gone or busy talking to other people. The last time I saw both of them was back in May at Carlos’ wedding. We are making plan to bring you more updates really soon.

Apple to Hold Press Conference on Friday, calling Moon Landing as a Hoax.

In the mind of many people in the world, July 16th is an important date in the History of the World. It is definitely not about some nobody’s birthday, but it is the launch date for Apollo 11 Mission. The Mission that landed Man on the Moon!

July 16th, 1969
Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin blasted off the Earth to the Moon.

July 20th, 1969
Neil Armstrong and “Buzz” Aldrin became the first and second human to step on The Moon, respectively.

These Days
Nut jobs still believe that Apollo 11 Mission was a hoax.

July 16th, 2010
Apple to hold a press conference, exposing the truth about Moon Landing Hoax. After all, it would be the one information that will take the attention away from the so called iPhone 4 Antenna Issue.

Futurama pokes fun at Apple with eyePhone.

In the third episode of the new season, Futurama pokes fun at Apple with the eyePhone. Mimicking real life, the episode “Attack of The Killer App” shows:

  • People are lining up to buy the eyePhone.
  • People don’t care if it costs a lot of money.
  • People don’t care if there’s no Carrier choice.
  • People don’t care if the battery doesn’t hold charges.

By the way, Planet Express Crews also figured out that the eyePhone also makes calls.

Other tidbits from the episode:

  • The Real Housewives of Sim City
  • Mentos
  • Twit-worm
  • Spybot
  • Susan Boils that sings show-tunes.

Futurama is Back, Baby!

June 24th, 2010

What a glorious day! We’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. Well, while some of you were still recovering from waiting in line outside the Apple Store, I’m enjoying new episodes of Futurama! By the way, I cancelled my iPhone 4 order that I supposed to pick up on the 24th.

Two new Futurama episodes air on Comedy Central and I am complaining that they feel too short. I want more!

Anyway, the Premiere Episode of the new season picked up where it left off in “Into The Wild Green Yonder” movie.

Despite of my disapproval of Comedy Central’s handling of South Park episode 200 and 201, I am watching Futurama.

In the meantime, you can collect Futurama DVD’s:

What are you waiting for? You know where to watch Futurama!
