iTunes 12.7.0, now Sans App Store

iTunes 12.7.0 Sans App Store.png

From Apple Knowledge Base:

The new iTunes focuses on music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and audiobooks. Apps for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch are now exclusively available in the new App Store for iOS. And the new App Store makes it easy to get, update, and redownload apps—all without a Mac or PC.

In a way, iTunes the Application is becoming less complicated. There are some who uses iTunes to keep a copy of their iOS Apps, but I bet that majority of iPhone and iPad users don’t use iTunes to download iOS Apps.

Junk in the iTunes App Store

As of September 9, 2014 Apple announced that there are 1.3 million apps in the App Store. Pretty sure the 1.3 million figure include the junk in the App Store.

I was re-downoading XCOM: Enemy Unknown on my iPad, and I saw an app titled:

GamePRO – X-COM Enemy Within Edition

XCOM in the App Store

I had a hunch, so I checked out this “GamePRO – X-COM Enemy Within Edition” app. My hunch was right; this is a junk app.

The reviews shows that this app is completely misleading.

This “developer” seems to have a lot of apps published in the App Store. All of them are complete junk.

This is what IngeniusGames.com look like:

IngeniusGames_com

It is a WordPress site with sample contents from the theme. I wonder how Apple App Store Team approved any apps from this so called developer?

If you see this kind of misleading, scummy junk apps, please report it to Apple.

Uncommon Sense, iOS 7 beta and App Reviews

Apple is expected to release iOS 7 sometimes in Fall 2013. So far, five beta builds of iOS 7 have been seeded to developers. A lot of progress have been made since the first iOS 7 beta was released. The first iOS 7 beta had a lot of known issues. Apple has been fixing the issues with consequent beta builds. With iOS 7 beta 5, there are still some relatively major issues and the are expected to be fixed I’m the upcoming betas.

Developers are expected to work on their existing Apps to ensure compatibilities with iOS 7. Since iOS 7 is still in beta, developers cannot submit Apps created using iOS 7 SDK beta at this time. Thus existing Apps are likely to be incompatible with iOS 7 beta.

There are a lot of people who should not install iOS 7 beta on their devices in the first place. That’s because they installed iOS 7 beta for all the wrong reasons. They left reviews for Apps at the App Store complaining that the Apps do not work with iOS 7 beta. It is obvious that these people are not developers and do not have common sense at all.

Apple should crack down on this type of review on the App Store and delete them. Furthermore, Apple should temporarily ban their account from posting any reviews until iOS 7 is released publicly.
