Glympse

One App I get to use this weekend is Glympse. I get to send updates of my travel progress automatically, providing I have internet connections on my AT&T account.

I did travel on I-5 for the trip.

Glympse is available for Android devices and iPhone/iPad and Windows Mobile 6.x. Internet access is required.

Angry Birds Celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Rovio has just released updates to Angry Birds Seasons to celebrate the fake holiday that is Valentine’s Day.

Angry Birds Seasons is available for iPod touch, iPhone, iPad and Android Devices.

Angry Birds Seasons includes Halloween, Holiday/Christmas and Valentine’s Day themes.

Miro Video Converter

Miro Video Converter is available at the Mac App Store.

I was looking into converting some videos into Google’s WebM format for comparison purposes. I first downloaded theWebM QuickTime Component from WebMProject.org but it never worked. Miro Video Converter turns out to be the one I need to create WebM videos for now. It is loaded with preset video format for quick conversion. It supports formats for Android Devices, iOS Devices and WebM among many.

Miro Video Converter is available for Mac OS X and Windows.

Android 2.2.2 FRG83G for Nexus One.

UPDATE:

I received an email from a colleague late last night:

Weird, my phone updated to 2.2.2 frg83g.

He is referring to his Nexus One receiving Froyo 2.2.2 OTA update. I have a Nexus One also, but I have yet received the Froyo 2.2.2 OTA update. As a matter of fact I’m anticipating Gingerbread 2.3 to be delivered to Nexus One based on the tweet by @googlenexus back in December 20th, 2010. One month in, and still no news about Gingerbread for Nexus One.

I could install a custom Android 2.3 firmware, but I am waiting for the official version.

Wrong Again, Mr. Laporte; Angry Birds Seasons Edition.

In This Week In Google 71: rel nofollow, Leo Laporte hastily “celebrates” that Angry Birds Seasons is available on Android only.

That is odd because Rovio had this announcement:

Angry Birds Seasons is now available for download for iOS and Android devices! Initially launched in the App Store as Angry Birds Halloween, the game has been expanded with a brand new festive level pack Season’s Greedings.

Even after Gina Trapani asked if Angry Birds Seasons were available for the iPhone, neither Leo Laporte nor Jeff Jarvis said anything after. No one cared to check the story Laporte was quoting.

Angry Birds Season is available on iTunes App Store.

According to TWiT Wiki, TWiG 71 was recorded on December 1st, 2010. One day before Angry Birds Seasons was officially announced at Rovio’s Blog. The Unofficial Apple Weblog reported that Rovio would be adding the Christmas levels to Angry Birds Halloween.

The excerpt is taken from TWiG 71 at mark 1 hour, 6 minutes and 14 seconds.
