Apple and AT&T: “Get ready for Apple iPhone”

Apple and AT&T are e-mailing out the notice for iPhone release.

Most interesting part is the following:

iTunes Account
To set up your iPhone, you’ll need an account with Apple’s iTunes Store. If you already have an iTunes account, make sure you know your account name and password. If you don’t have an account, you should set one up now to save time later. To set up an account, launch iTunes, select the iTunes Store, and click the “Sign In” button in the upper right corner of iTunes. Sign in and you’re ready to go.

Not sure what that means.

Get ready for  iPhone

As always, someone will jump up and down; complaining about the “lock-in” of the iPhone and the service.

“I hate iTunes, I want an alternative software to interface with the iPhone.”

Safari 3 Public Beta: New “Find” Feature

Apple must have been taking a lot of note in developing Safari 3 user interface. One thing that Safari has been lacking is the “find-in-page” feature. The “Find Banner” is located on the top of the page below the Toolbar/Bookmark Bar. Mozilla Firefox has this feature for quite sometimes now; the “search bar” can be found at the bottom of the browser.

Previous “Find” feature in Safari is is almost unusable, thanks to the highlight color of the found word. This is one major improvement in Safari UI.

List of Apple WWDC 2007 Keynote Live Coverage

For those who won’t be in Moscone Center watching Steve Jobs’ WWDC 2007 Keynote, there are plenty of sites covering it live.

New feature:

New “Unity” feature: Say goodbye to the Windows desktop – VMware Fusion now lets you run Windows XP applications directly on your Mac desktop, providing full integration with Mac keyboard shortcuts and the Exposé feature in Mac OS X. Use the VMware Fusion Launch Palette to easily access all your Windows applications, and save your favorite Windows applications to the Mac OS X Dock.

Earlier today, Apple and Parallels released Boot Camp 1.3 beta and Parallels Desktop for Mac 3.0 respectively.

Today is a busy day for me to try out all three. I’ll write a follow up in the next coming days.
