Engadget reports that LG has acquired webOS from HP. According to the report, LG intends to use webOS for its smart TV products.

Back in December 2011, HP the intention on making webOS an Open Source project.

Flip4Mac 3.1 from Telestream is now available.

Added support for Retina displays.
Added the ability to export to iTunes from Flip Player, including exporting both audio and video, or exporting just the audio portion of a movie.
Added iPad mini and iPod Nano scaling presets.

Flip4Mac enables transcoding Windows Media files on the fly in OS X Lion and Mountain Lion.
