Software Updates: Twitter 5.4 for iOS

Twitter 5.4 for iOS is now available. This version of Twitter App removes support for uploading videos to Posterous. That makes a lot of sense since Posterous is shutting down.

What’s New in Version 5.4
This update includes enhancements to search and other improvements.

  • As you search you’ll see more topic and user suggestions for your query, based on what’s happening in real time. You’ll also see these suggestions when adding a hashtag or username as you compose a new Tweet.
  • Top Tweets from big moments in the past pop out when you search for a given term. For example, searching for “election” might highlight Tweets from several months ago.
  • When you open a web page you can now see the related Tweet for more context. Just pull the tray icon up or down to see or hide the Tweet.
  • It’s easier to see long conversations in the Tweet details view, which now shows all of the replies to any Tweet
  • When you block a user in the app, their Tweets will instantly disappear from the Connect tab in the app
  • Pull-to-refresh in Discover shows a new, smoother animation
  • Support for traditional Chinese
  • Logout support (iOS 6 only)
  • Uploading videos vie Mobypicture, Vodpod and Posterous is no longer supported
  • Additional bug fixes and improvements

Maximum of 10 LogMeIn Free Per Account

LogMeIn will be adding a 10 Free Computer subscriptions limit per account.

We’re making some changes to LogMeIn Free — specifically introducing new volume limits on LogMeIn Free accounts — that will impact a small portion of our user base. While the vast majority of LogMeIn Free users will not be impacted by this change – LogMeIn Free is and will remain free – we wanted to take a minute to explain what is changing, who will be impacted and what, if anything, it will mean for you.

LogMeIn has been providing great free service, and surprisingly it took them this long to put such limit.

Bullpie Journalism: Apple Executives are wearing watches

How bored are these so called journalists with their latests reports on Apple and watches. Apparently they are scraping the bottom to make news.

Look! Jony Ive is wearing watches. Well, he must be designing some sort of Apple Watch. Let’s call it “iWatch” and scoop everyone else.

News organization such as Bloomberg and Business Insider are racing to show who can publish poorly written articles about Apple and watches the most. Then came along 9 to 5 Mac with a gem like the following:

Apple executives and a long history with watches

Apparently Jony Ive is not the only Apple Executive who wears watch. A shocking discovery, isn’t it?

Dan Ricio, Bob Mansfield, Greg Joswiak and Phil Schiller also wear watches. That’s newsworthy, apparently. What’s next?

Tim Cook wears a watch? Then Apple must be making a watch.

Let’s not forget that Apple Executives drive cars, eat foods and wear clothes. Apple must be making cars, food products and clothes.

Someone should tell Ed Orcutt that Apple Executives are also producing CO2; they are wrecking the environment.
