Casualty of MobileMe Closure: Drew Thaler’s JavaScript Blacklist Safari Extension.

UPDATE:
JavaScript Blacklist Safari Extension 1.0.1 is available.

What is Drew Thaler’s JavaScript Blacklist Safari Extension?

JavaScript Blacklist is a simple extension for Safari 5 which blacklists scripts from a configurable list of domains. If a common “utility” script used by sites that you visit is annoying you, this will let you opt out quickly and easily.

John Gruber linked to Drew Thaler’s page which was hosted on MobileMe: http://homepage.mac.com/drewthaler/jsblacklist/

The problem is that Apple has shut MobileMe down starting July 1st, 2012.

You can easily copy Drew Thaler’s JavaScript Blacklist Safari Extension from other computers. You can also download it here. I copied it from one of my computers and zipped it.

Galaxy Nexus is taken off Google Play US Store.

Galaxy Nexus is no longer available for sale at Google Play US Store. Samsung’s request for a stay of injunction against the sale of Galaxy Nexus was denied by the Honorable Judge Lucy Koh.

I wonder what would happen to the Nexus-7 tablet. What if it were banned for sale in the US too? I have already preordered one and there might be a chance I wouldn’t be getting it. To be honest, I am expecting Nexus-7 to ship before Apple can do anything about it. Then again, Apple has yet to sue ASUS for any slavish copying.

Note from Vondiggity:

“Who’s laughing now? I already bought one.”

Replies from me:

“You paid $399 plus sales tax and shipping. The price is $349 plus sales tax and shipping. That $50 can get you a lot of taco on Taco Tuesday.”

The Week that kinda never was.

The 4th of July falls on Wednesday this year and that means a lot of people actually taking the whole week off. This certainly affects how things are in the United States. One thing I can say is that this week has not been a busy week.

I managed to get things done here at the office. Reinstalling OS X Lion and Windows 7 on various computers.

I am looking forward to the 4th of July celebration with good friends and my camera. I hope to take a lot of pictures.

Come Thursday, we all will try to get back to our regularly scheduled working life.
