Apple Posts iTunes 7.6, QuickTime 7.4, iMovie 7.1.1, and Front Row 2.1.2

Shortly after the conclusions of Steve Jobs’ annual MacWorld San Francisco 2008, apple posts updates to iTunes, QuickTime, iMovie ’08, and Front Row 2.

iTunes 7.6 for Mac (45MB) | Windows (56MB)
iTunes is the best way to enjoy your digital music and video with your Mac, PC, iPod, iPhone and Apple TV.

Front Row 2.1.2 (16.8MB)
This Front Row update provides for bug fixes and improved iTunes compatibility.

iMovie 7.1.1 (16MB)
This update addresses issues when publishing movies to a .Mac Web Gallery, improves overall stability, and addresses a number of other minor issues.

Canon HG10 AVCHD Camcorder – Another Video Sample

Thanks to my friend I get to use the Canon HG10 AVCHD 40GB High Definition Camcorder and write about it. I posted a short video clip from this camera a few days ago. The first clip doesn’t really represent the quality of the video captured by this camera, since I show mostly “Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory” on the LCD screen. I’ll post the review for this camcorder in the near future.

The video clip is imported and edited using iMovie ’08 on a MacBook Pro Core Duo 2GHz running Mac OS X 10.5.1 Leopard.
I was importing the clip using Final Cut Pro, and for some reason it crashes during the import process.

I will test the camera using Sony Vegas later.

CES 2008 is over, and it’s time to turn the attentions to MacWorld San Francisco 2008. As reported by many web-sites, the tag-line for this years MWSF is “There’s something in the air”.

UPDATE: 2008.01.14 – Apple site posts “There’s something in the air.” Keynote Teaser. Steve Jobs’ keynote will be available for viewing Tuesday afternoon.

As usual numbers of Apple-oriented and tech sites will be providing live coverage of Steve Jobs Keynote.

First Glance at Canon HG10 AVCHD 40GB High Definition Camcorder

UPS delivered the Canon HG10 AVCHD 40GB High Definition Camcorder just a few hours prior to this post. Thanks to Amazon.com for prompt service and UPS for actually delivering the camcorder one day early.

The price @ Amazon.com is $761.60 at the time of this post.

I use iMovie ’08 and Sony Vegas to import the videos.

I need to spend more time using this camcorder to write a more thorough review. In the mean time, check the pictures below.

The other camcorder is Panasonic HDC-SD5.
