The Comfort in 8GB of RAM.

A lot of computers sold in 2011 comes with 4GB of ram or higher. For most, that amount of RAM is more than enough. For the past 3 months I found out that I personally needs at minimum 8GB of RAM. I’d go for 16GB as long as it doesn’t cost too much. I can get 2x4GB SO-DIMM RAM for under $60 while 2x8GB SO-DIMM costs more than $800.

I set-up a Mac mini earlier today. The office requires a certain Windows-only program, so I installed Windows on Parallels. It used all the RAM it could get and used up all 4GB. I’ve just ordered 2x4GB SO-DIMM RAM for the Mac mini. I know it would run better with more RAM.

Yet another problem with a hard drive.

One of the office computers was having problems throughout the week. I decided to take it home and troubleshoot it for the weekend. I found out there are some problems with the hard drive. The first thing I do is running Spinrite in recovery mode.

The good news is that Spinrite is able to recover data from the bad sector. The bad news is that the process is going to take longer than I expected.

Apple readies productions at Foxconn Brazil.

According to a highly unreliable and untrusted sources, Apple employees have booked flights to Brazil to oversee productions at Foxconn factory. No details were given about what the product is. The Apple employees also have booked return flights to Cupertino sometimes in mid October.

The same highly unreliable and untrusted sources also said: “iPad 3? Are you kidding me?”

There you go.

Dear Hollywood, Stop It!

It is pretty apparent that Hollywood has been running good ideas for years. Stop remaking movies!

Remaking cheesy movies would only show how clueless Hollywood is.
