Demand for iPhone 5 exceeds the initial supply and while the majority of pre-orders will be delivered to customers on September 21, many are scheduled to be delivered in October.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>\u201ciPhone 5 pre-orders have shattered the previous record held by iPhone 4S and the customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal,\u201d said Philip Schiller, Apple\u2019s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. \u201ciPhone 5 is the best iPhone yet, the most beautiful product we\u2019ve ever made, and we hope customers love it as much as we do.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I guess the pundits are right, iPhone 5 is <a href=\"http:\/\/daringfireball.net\/linked\/2012\/09\/17\/boring\" target=\"_blank\">boring<\/a>. It is also disappointing because iPhone 5 is just another iPhone that has no &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2012\/09\/17\/fox-news-reveals-some-amazing-new-iphone-features\/\" target=\"_blank\">laser keyboard and holographic features<\/a>&#8221; as reported by Fox 5 (via 9to5mac).<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>Personal note:<\/p>\n<p>I did not pre-order iPhone 5. I do not have any intentions to wait in line on September 21st, 2012 to get an iPhone 5. I do not have any plans on buying an iPhone 5 this year. Here are my reasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I am still under by AT&amp;T contract, which would not give me the upgrade discount until sometimes in December 2012.<\/li>\n<li>I am not sure if I want to extend\/renew my contract with AT&amp;T. One scenario is that I&#8217;d buy an iPhone 5 without signing a new contract, thus paying full price; I don&#8217;t want to do that.<\/li>\n<li>I did not even buy an iPhone 4S, as the two people who regularly read my posts found out.
