{"id":7115,"date":"2011-11-23T12:13:35","date_gmt":"2011-11-23T20:13:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/37prime.wordpress.com\/?p=7115"},"modified":"2011-11-23T12:13:35","modified_gmt":"2011-11-23T20:13:35","slug":"kindle-fire-one-week-after","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/37prime.com\/news\/2011\/11\/23\/kindle-fire-one-week-after\/","title":{"rendered":"Kindle Fire: One week after."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been one week since Amazon Kindle Fire arrived and there are a lot of things to say about it.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s start with the good things.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The 7-inch tablet form factor is easy to hold with one hand.<\/li>\n<li>Kindle Fire interface is visually pleasing.<\/li>\n<li>Amazon Prime video streaming works really well (with good Internet connection, obviously).<\/li>\n<li>Good color reproduction and viewing angle. Thanks to the IPS screen.<\/li>\n<li>The User Interface is pretty responsive, in general.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to sideload Android apps not from Amazon Appstore.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here comes the bad things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bad power\/lock button. It&#8217;s at the &#8220;bottom&#8221; of the Kindle Fire and easily pressed by accident.<\/li>\n<li>No hardware volume buttons.<\/li>\n<li>On-screen keyboard feels &#8220;floaty&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>1024&#215;600 screen ratio in landscape mode is hard to look at, especially for web-browsing and email.<\/li>\n<li>Sluggish screen redraw.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There a re still a lot to say about Kindle Fire.
