Here are the steps to prepare yourself before upgrading to iOS 5:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download iTunes 10.5 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/DL1426\" target=\"_blank\">Mac<\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/swdlp.apple.com\/cgi-bin\/WebObjects\/SoftwareDownloadApp.woa\/wa\/getProductData?localang=en_us&amp;grp_code=itunes&amp;returnURL=http:\/\/www.apple.com\/itunes\/download&amp;isMiniiFrameReq=N&amp;showMac=false\" target=\"_blank\">Windows<\/a> | <a href=\"http:\/\/support.apple.com\/kb\/DL1427\" target=\"_blank\">Windows 64 bit<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Back up your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad using iTunes.Make sure you check &#8220;Encrypt iPhone\/iPod touch\/iPad backup&#8221;. Mac users can use iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture.
