As I was working to get this problem straighten out, I discovered <a href=\"http:\/\/tech.slashdot.org\/story\/11\/09\/30\/176230\/microsoft-security-products-flag-google-chrome-as-a-virus\" target=\"_blank\">other people are having the same problem<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/37prime.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Microsoft-hates-Google-Chrome.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Microsoft hates Google Chrome\" src=\"http:\/\/37prime.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Microsoft-hates-Google-Chrome-480x375.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, Microsoft Security Essentials did not flag Google Chrome Dev release as malware. It only affects the release version on the computers I have in the office.<\/p>\n<p>I was unable to reinstall Google Chrome even after <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/security\/portal\/Threat\/Encyclopedia\/Entry.aspx?name=PWS:Win32\/Zbot&amp;threatid=2147598479\" target=\"_blank\">updating Microsoft Security Essentials<\/a>. So I disabled Microsoft Security Essentials before started re-installing Google Chrome.<\/p>\n<p>If you were still having problems re-installing Google Chrome with Microsoft Security Essentials disabled, try uninstalling Google Chrome from the Control Panel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I spent the whole morning restoring Google Chrome on numbers of computers at the office after it was flagged as Password Stealer PWS:Win32\/Zbot and forcibly removed by Microsoft Security Essentials.
