Gateway\u00ae GT5404 Desktop comes with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. I posted a little review on this computer in March and mentioned that I installed Windows XP Pro on it. Since then I have been getting question on how to get Windows XP to recognize the Serial-ATA drive. The BIOS of the motherboard allows to configure the SATA devices as IDE so that Windows XP installers can detect the drive without having to install the SATA driver first.<\/p>\n

The same method also works for Gateway\u00ae GT5408 Desktop.<\/p>\n
