We posted one at our <a href=\"https:\/\/37prime.wordpress.com\/\">WordPress.com-hosted blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dreamhost\/status\/900767488362909697\">@Dreamhost<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Our engineers have identified the cause of the DNS degradation as a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. <a href=\"https:\/\/dreamhoststatus.com\/\">dreamhoststatus.com<\/a>&#8220;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Dreamhost is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dreamhost.com\/blog\/we-fight-for-the-users\/\">currently in the news<\/a> as the Department of Justice &#8220;demands that DreamHost hand over 1.3 <em>million\u00a0<\/em>visitor IP addresses&#8221; for a site hosted by the company.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wordfence.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/dreamhost-ddos-attack\/\">Wordfence chimed in<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The DDoS appears to be unrelated to the DoJ request above. It looks like it <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HighTechDad\/status\/900763914610159616\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">may be an Anonymous attack<\/a> targeting the Dreamhost DNS to try to take a white supremacist website called \u2018punishedstormer dot com\u2019 offline.
