(NYSE: WMG) today announced the completion of its acquisition of 73.5 percent of Amsterdam-based Roadrunner Music Group B.V., which includes Roadrunner Records, one of the leading hard rock and heavy metal labels.<\/p>\n<p>The Roadrunner acquisition was originally announced on December 18, 2006.\u00a0 The transaction was subject to regulatory approval in Germany, which has now been obtained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Warner Music Group essentially has both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.megadeth.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Megadeth<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metallica.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Metallica<\/a> under it wings.<\/p>\n<p>Currently there are four Major Record Labels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Universal Music Group<\/li>\n<li>Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Inc.<\/li>\n<li>Warner Music Group<\/li>\n<li>EMI Group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wmg.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.wmg.com\/<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.roadrunnerrecords.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.roadrunnerrecords.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Warner Music Group has officially completed acquisition of Roadrunner Music Group today.
