WordPress Goes 2.8.5 October 21, 2009

Take that, Scoble!
Anyway, WordPress 2.8.5 is out. Spare no time and upgrade now.
It is available through the built-in upgrade feature or it can be downloaded from WordPress.org.

- A fix for the Trackback Denial-of-Service attack that is currently being seen.
- Removal of areas within the code where php code in variables was evaluated.
- Switched the file upload functionality to be whitelisted for all users including Admins.
- Retiring of the two importers of Tag data from old plugins.

- Apple issuing $30 iTunes credit for AT&T activation issues (9to5Mac) | A lot of people opted to do online order instead of lining up at the stores.
- Regarding the WSJ’s Report That Steve Jobs Had a Liver Transplant (Daring Fireball) | As usual it’s a good read from John Grubber.
