WordPress.com Outage: The Aftermath, Part 1. February 18, 2010
Posted by 37prime in : Announcement, Media, News, Resources, Security, Tech, Troubleshooting , add a commentI’d better make sure to spell “outage” correctly this time. Yeah, for some reason the iPhone assumed that I wanted to type “outrage” earlier. Blame the double tapping the “t” on the iPhone.
Anyway, WordPress.com is back up and the preliminary reports reveals:
- 110 minutes of downtime.
- 10.2 million blogs were down, as opposed to 9.2 million blogs as reported by other source.
- estimated of 5.5 millions of missing pageviews.
- the cause of the outage is still unknown.
We’ll find out soon what caused the outage, hopefully.

… a problem where logged in users can peek at trashed posts belonging to other authors. If you have untrusted users signed up on your blog and sensitive posts in the trash, you should upgrade to 2.9.2.
