According to sources within Apple, the first developer build of iOS 6 beta is being readied for distribution. The actual build of iOS 6 beta will be packed for distribution merely days prior to WWDC 2012. Some new hardware specific features will not be included in the beta builds.

The sources intentionally omitted informations that might reveal their identities but hinted at hardware specific features for the next iPhone.

Thoughts and Irony: The man who sues Apple over the performance of Siri. May 18, 2012

The story: iPhone User Sues Apple over Voice-Activated Assistant

Fazio claims Siri is far less responsive in real life. When he asked for directions to a certain place, or to locate a store, “Siri either did not understand what Plaintiff was asking, or, after a very long wait time, responded with the wrong answer.”

This man from New York is mad at Apple because Siri does not perform the way it is portrayed in the commercials.

I wonder if this man from New York also uses Axe Body Spray.

A few days before iPad (third generation) went on sale I decided to get one with LTE on Verizon, I like the ability to use it as a hotspot. Just a few days ago I had to rely on the iPad hotspot to get online. It was a career saver. I managed to do my job and impressed the clients. I have been getting great network speed on Verizon LTE.

Perian Project comes to a close. May 15, 2012

From perian.org:

We began the Perian project over 6 years ago. We wanted to simplify viewing your content. Our team has attained that goal and with that in mind, Perian will be retired soon. Our stewardship has been a blast but it’s time for all of us to move on.

…….

Starting 90 days after the final Perian release, we will no longer provide support. We’ll wrap up our loose ends, pack up our bags, and move on to new and exciting projects.

Here’s what our roadmap looks like:

  • We will soon release the final version of Perian, including all the fixes we’ve worked on since the last release. It may — or may not — work on 10.8.
  • We will post the source code to either Google Code or Github.

Thanks to The Perian Project Team members for doing such a great job all these years.
