Please do panic and abandon Apple.

Posted in Apple, iPad, iPhone, iPod, Media, News, Rants, Resources, Security, Tech, Troubleshooting at 3:20 pm by 37prime

Since everyone on the Internet is saying that Apple is definitely tracking your iOS movement, then it must be true. To make matter worse, Senator Al Franken (D-MN) and Representative Ed Markey (D-MA) have sent queries to Steve Jobs about this issue. Adding insults to the injuries, thousands if not infinite numbers of bloggers are busy wearing out their “C” and “V” keys reposting the story over and over again. Apple must be the bad guy, right?

What are you waiting for, its time to abandon Apple. Throw away your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Buy only Android/Windows Phone 7/webOS/Blackberry/etc. that is non Apple devices. Please do panic now.

In related news, Google captured your password while taking pictures of your house. Please do panic!

Please do panic!

I need to take classes in sarcasm.

Jumping the gun is the trend.

Look it’s a gun, let’s jump it.

“Oh Your God! Samsung is shipping key-loggers in their computers.”

“Apple did what? They are tracking your movement with their iOS devices. Shame on you Apple!”

“LOL at Apple, you copied Samsung!”

It’s time to tell everyone by copying and pasting the “breaking” news into the blog.

Can anyone else come up with something better?

Parrots and Apes.

Posted in Rants, Tech at 2:42 am by 37prime

There are a lot of “blogs” on the internet that are nothing but Parrots and Apes. Take barely a rumor, then “amplify” it a few thousand times.

  • “Oh Apple this, Apple that.”
  • “Oh Your God! Samsung is shipping key logger with their computers.”
  • “Google did what?”

Then there are those who used automatic translation service such as Google Translate, translating a post that was originally translated from English to another language back to English.

What about those who keep copying and pasting other’s work into their own blogs? Content-scraping, content-farming and content-stealing. Copying an article from support forums and making it into a post is annoying.

It is not that hard to write a few sentences of your own. Come up with something more original.

Quoting the original source is much preferable than quoting someone who quoted someone else who quoted the original source.

Readers do appreciate original contents.

Ah well, enough with this rant.

Nokia and The Downward Spiral.

Posted in News, Rants, Tech at 4:03 am by very

Nokia once was the most dominant player in mobile phone market. Nokia is now a desperate Microsoft’s whipping boy.

Signing deal with Microsot seems to be the last resort before losing many patent suit.

Where’s The Outrage? Microsoft is going after Motorola for Android.

Posted in Announcements, Apple, Linux, Media, Microsoft, News, Rants, Resources, Tech at 1:00 pm by 37prime

Fortune reports that Microsoft is going after Motorola for Patent violations related to Android. Apparently Motorola won’t be going the Windows Phone 7 way in favor of Android. It is obvious that Microsoft is losing the grip and going lawsuit happy.

Anyone remembers that HTC signed a “Patent deal” related to Android with Microsoft? I really thought that Android is an Open Source Project led by Google. How can Microsoft asserting Patent right to someone else’s product?

Well, Microsoft has been claiming that another Open Source Project named Linux is violating their Patents. Novell was quick to “collaborate” with Microsoft. Linus Torvald disagrees.

There are a lot of people who feel disgusted with Apple suing HTC, and a lot of them cheered when HTC signe a deal with Microsoft. What is wrong with this picture? It is just like defending a castle from attacks by surrendering to another enemy with a bigger army. You still lose!

Shame on you, Microsoft. Is this how you innovate?

Rant-o-rama: Leo Laporte needs to take a deep breath.

Posted in Announcements, Entertainment, Media, News, Rants, Tech at 8:12 pm by very

It is getting harder and harder to take Leo Laporte seriously. More and more Leo becomes more emotional about the news. Recently Leo calls Audible for the Android to be the killer app. Audible for sure has a great software for Android, but that’s not the problem. Let us all remind ourself that Leo Laporte and his TWiT network are sponsored by Audible. There are a lot of bias there. In the past, Leo was bashing WordPress and recommends SquareSpace. SquareSpace is also a sponsor of TWiT network.

Leo, whenever you read a news-piece you should stop for a second. You have been trolled too many times lately. Then again you’re still listening to the Microsoft P.R. that is Paul Thurrott.

Leo, your radio show becomes a playground for your own mistakes. A lot of “advice” you’re giving to your callers tend to be useless and wrong.

Anyway, this is all I can rant about for now.

Jason Calacanis, an attention whore.

Separating from the “news” and personal opinion, that’s why I’m posting this on the blog part of 37prime.com.

Jason Calacanis is an attention whore.

For sure that Calacanis is not getting that much followers on Twitter as much as he hoped. I, Cringely picked up Calacanis’ tweets as story. Calacanis’ failed attempt at humor does show his true character, nothing but an attention whore. The only smart thing Calacanis ever done is selling Weblogs, Inc. to AOL for millions of Dollars. Since then Calacanis has been living large on the payout.

There I said it.

Yet another Hard-Drive might have gone bad.

Posted in Announcements, Media, News, Rants, Resources, Tech, Troubleshooting, Windows at 1:23 pm by 37prime

Nothing brightens my day like seeing a Hard-Drive failing. That means I have to rescue the data.

Wait, did I say “brightens my day?”

I meant to say the opposite.

Yes, it’s another ugly traffic day. This time I blame all the Thanksgiving Day commuters.
