Earlier today, I read and heard about “new NBC shows” premieres on iTunes Store. Many question why Apple is carrying these two shows after saying that they won’t be carrying any new NBC-Universal shows, due to their “irreconcilable differences”.
First off, “Chuck” and “Journeyman” are NOT produced by NBC-Universal, but they are only aired by NBC. After the contracts ended, these shows will remains in iTunes Store rosters under its respective production studios.
“Chuck” is produced by Warner Brothers Entertainment, Inc.
“Journeyman” is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation
Other NBC shows on iTunes Store that are not produced by NBC-Universal:
- “My Name Is Earl” - Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation
- “Scrubs” - Touchtone Television (Disney)
- “Studio 60″ - Warner Brothers Entertainment, Inc.
- “Days of our Lives” - Corday Productions Inc.
Other Sci Fi (owned by NBC Universal) shows on iTunes that are not produced by NBC-Universal:
- “Stargate Atlantis” (Sci Fi) - SONY MGM Production
- “The Dresden Files” (Sci Fi) - Lions Gate Television, Inc.
The shows above most likely will stay on iTunes Store after NBC Universal contracts ends, under its respective production studios.

Megadeth premieres “Never Walk Alone” video on Megadeth’s MySpace.

The video was shot on August 22nd, 2007 at Cheyenne Studio in Castaic, California. The band, the crews, and everybody else spent a whole day shooting the video in a studio with green-screen backdrop.
“Never Walk Alone” is the second video from Megadeth’s “United Abominations“. The first video “Set Me Free (A Tout Lé Monde)” is available for viewing at Megadeth.com (close to the bottom of the page).

Just because the “Trip” meter hit 300 exactly.
“This is SPARTAAAAA!”

I only took 20 minutes to retouch the picture using Photoshop CS3 on my MacBook Pro Core Duo.
Just for your reference, it’s from “300″ the movie.

Amazon has taken its new music service to public beta.
Introducing Amazon MP3, a la carte DRM-free MP3 digital music downloads.

Most DRM-free MP3 tracks are priced ¢89, and most albums are priced from $5.99 to $9.99. Tracks are encoded in 256kbps MP3. Amazon recommends installing Amazon MP3 Downloader, that will automatically add any purchased song to iTunes or Windows Media Player.

Unlike Amazon Unbox, Amazon MP3 service is compatible with Mac and Windows (haven’t tried it on Linux).
At first, it seems that Amazon MP3 is a worthy competitor to Apple iTunes Store. Looking ahead and beyond, this is a victory over the dreaded DRM. It is interesting how Universal Music Group purposely excludes Apple iTunes Store from its DRM-free offerings. Eventually, it won’t matter anymore, because DRM-free MP3s will work in any music players. Be it an iPod, Creative Zen, SanDisk Sansa, or even Zune.
I can play the MP3 I purchased from Amazon MP3 on my iPhone.
Support DRM-free music service!
